Job Title: Used Vehicle Preparation Centre Manager

Job Type: Full-Time
Overview: The Used Vehicle Preparation Centre Manager at Top Gear Stoke is a crucial role, overseeing the entire vehicle preparation process for our used cars. This position ensures that all vehicles are expertly appraised, reconditioned, and marketed to the highest standards. You'll manage vehicle repairs, bodywork, and address customer after-sales issues, all while staying within budget and optimizing vehicle presentation. Additionally, you will efficiently manage a team of vehicle and body shop technicians to achieve maximum productivity and revenue.
Key Responsibilities:
- Vehicle Appraisal:
- Conduct detailed appraisals of incoming vehicles to assess their condition and determine required reconditioning.
- Prepare comprehensive reports on vehicle values to support remarketing strategies.
- Planning and Budgeting:
- Develop and manage reconditioning plans, including overseeing repairs and bodywork while adhering to budget constraints.
- Allocate and monitor budgets for repairs and bodywork, ensuring cost-effectiveness and adherence to quality standards.
- Workshop and Body Shop Management:
- Supervise daily operations of the workshop and body shop, ensuring efficient workflows and compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Manage and motivate a team of vehicle technicians and body shop technicians, maximizing productivity and efficiency.
- Customer After-Sales Issues:
- Address and resolve after-sales issues to ensure customer satisfaction and maintain positive relationships.
- Provide support and guidance to customers regarding vehicle concerns, repairs, and warranty claims.
- Remarketing Strategy:
- Work with sales and marketing teams to develop and implement strategies for digital merchandising and vehicle promotion.
- Ensure all vehicles meet dealership standards and are effectively presented in marketing channels.
- Reporting and Analysis:
- Generate regular reports on vehicle reconditioning progress, budget adherence, and after-sales performance.
- Analyze feedback and performance metrics to enhance reconditioning processes and improve customer satisfaction.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Master Technician or in a similar technical role with a strong understanding of vehicle repairs and bodywork.
- Extensive experience managing a workshop and body shop, with excellent leadership and organizational skills.
- In-depth knowledge of vehicle appraisal, budgeting, and cost management.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage customer concerns professionally.
- Experience in digital merchandising and marketing for used vehicles.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a focus on customer service.
