Job Description:

Finatal is currently partnered with a Mid-Market Private Equity Fund who have recently acquired a Software Business in the Healthcare space – they are now looking for a Chief Technology Officer to lead their Cloud Strategy, Security & Data Governance, Architecture Modernisation and Product/Team Integration as part of its acquisitive growth plan. This role is ideal for a hands-on, technically grounded CTO with experience in cloud infrastructure, security, and team management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cloud Strategy & Cost Management: Lead the transition to Microsoft Azure, optimize infrastructure for cost-effectiveness, and build scalable, secure cloud solutions. Hands-on experience with Azure Synapse and a strong track record of cloud cost management is essential.
  • Security & Data Governance: Overhaul the company’s security posture by addressing weaknesses identified in prior penetration tests. Establish a robust data governance framework and ensure the product and API security are watertight. You’ll build security and compliance into every stage of development and product management.
  • Product & Architecture Modernization: Lead a full re-architecture of both the front-end and back-end, bringing a strong foundational approach to modernizing and future-proofing the tech stack. Maintain hands-on involvement in technical solutions to address current gaps and elevate the quality of the user experience.
  • Team Development & Leadership: Build, manage, and upgrade the technology team, ensuring high standards of performance, technical skills, and compliance. Foster a culture of continuous improvement, technical excellence, and security awareness within the team.
  • Integration & Scalability: As part of the company's acquisitive approach, you will play a crucial role in integrating new products and teams. This will require experience in both the technical and operational aspects of bringing new solutions into an established infrastructure, especially in a B2G SaaS or enterprise setting.
  • Collaboration with Private Equity and Stakeholders: Work closely with the board, PE investors, and senior management, aligning technical strategies with business goals, ensuring that tech development supports the growth and value-creation objectives of the business.

Key Requirements:

  • Strong foundation in API and product security, with practical experience implementing security frameworks and handling compliance and data governance for tech products.
  • Proven track record of leading front-end and back-end modernization projects, especially in environments that require a re-architecting for scalability and security.
  • Expertise in FinOps to drive financial accountability, optimise cloud spending, and align technology investments with business goals
  • Skilled at managing and mentoring technology teams with an ability to foster a high-performance, security-focused culture.
  • Experience in integration of new products and teams in a scaling business, ideally in a B2G SaaS or enterprise software context.
  • Prior exposure to working within a Private Equity-owned business and a solid understanding of the dynamics, expectations, and pressures of such environments.
