Role Description

This is a full-time role for a Mobile Plant Mechanic at Active Plant Hire. Experience in the plant hire industry is desired and experience with plant machinery is a minimum requirement. As a Mobile Plant Mechanic, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of various types of plant and machinery. This includes performing inspections, diagnosing faults, conducting repairs and servicing, and ensuring equipment meets safety standards. This role is based in Upminster with flexibility for some remote work. Role will range from PDI and return checks to major repairs and fault finding.

Fleet range of Kubota , Hitachi, Takeuchi and Volvo excavators, JCB Telehandlers, Bomag Rollers and dumpers of various manufacturers.

Qualifications

  • Mechanical and technical knowledge of plant and machinery
  • Experience in diagnosing and repairing faults
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks
  • Valid driving license
  • Experience in the construction or plant hire industry is a plus
  • Relevant certifications or qualifications in mechanical engineering or a related field

Rate of pay, negotiable dependent on experience.
