Key Purpose of the Electronic Test Engineer

Part of Weatherford International, Reeves Wireline Technologies Ltd is a successful company engaged in the design, manufacture and operation of sophisticated geophysical exploration equipment servicing the International Oil, Gas and Mineral exploration industries.

Based at our East Leake Headquarters, we have a requirement for a hands-on Electronic Test Engineer (qualified to HNC/HND level) in a manufacturing environment to join the Production Test Department. Reporting to the Test Supervisor, your role will be to bench test and repair fully assembled electronic PCB’s, sub-assemblies and compact tools in line with approved engineering drawings and specifications, whilst accurately and systematically recording all data gathered throughout the testing process used for monitoring and quality purposes.

Key Responsibilities of the Electronic Test Engineer

* Electronic testing and repair of precision compact tools and assemblies, in line with approved engineering drawings and specifications, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

* Accurate and systematic recording of all test data used for referral purposes, obtained from all PCB and tool tests. To perform environmental stress screening (ESS) to all assembled downhole PCB sub-assemblies in accordance with the specification clearly defined in the environmental test procedure for each sub assembly, ensuring the product is fit for purpose prior to sign off.

* Test and repair all products as prioritised by the Test Supervisor, with the main objective of meeting all requirements of the monthly production schedule, thereby ensuring that all tested product is moved to the next process according to the routing on the Works Order.

* At each stage of testing, work with inspection, mechanical assembly and engineers to ensure that precision aspects are maintained.

* Assist engineering and production to achieve continuous quality, reliability, and cost improvements in all aspects of electronic testing, through dialogue and implementation by submitting either Non-Conformity and Corrective Action Requests or Opportunity for Improvements, once such improvements and or amendments have been approved by the Test Supervisor.

Qualifications for the Electronic Test Engineer

* HNC/HND in Electrical and Electronic Engineering.

* Minimum 2 years of continuous employment in a similar role in the last 5 years.

* Minimum 3 years of experience of substantial electronic test and repair of precision electronic equipment down to component level, using traditional testing methods (not ATE).

* Should be able to use traditional electronic test instrumentation eg; oscilloscope, digital multi-meter, frequency counter.

* Electronic test and repair experience of precision electronic equipment down to component level.

* Analogue and digital experience.

* Electrical stress screening (environmental testing).

* Soldering skills (component soldering)
