We are looking for dedicated and passionate mathematics tutors to join our team to tutor in South Manchester, Stockport and surrounding areas.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of maths concepts across various levels up to Key Stage 4 and have the ability to gain rapport and effectively communicate and teach these concepts to students. You will work with individuals or small groups of students in the South Manchester area to provide personalised lessons, support, and guidance to help them achieve their academic goals in mathematics.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide personalised mathematics instruction to students based on their individual learning needs and abilities.
  • Develop and implement lesson plans and subsequent activities that align with the curriculum and learning objectives.
  • Assess students' strengths and weaknesses in mathematics through diagnostic tests, assignments, and discussions.
  • Identify areas for improvement and develop strategies to help students overcome challenges and build confidence in their mathematical abilities.
  • Teach fundamental mathematical concepts, problem-solving techniques, and critical thinking skills.
  • Utilise a variety of teaching methods, resources, and technologies to engage students and enhance their learning experience.
  • Monitor student progress, track performance data, and provide regular feedback to students and parents/guardians.
  • Maintain a positive and supportive learning environment that fosters academic growth, motivation, and success.
  • Stay updated on current trends, methodologies, and advancements in mathematics education to continuously improve teaching practices.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Science Education, or related field.
  • Previous experience as a mathematics tutor, teacher, or educator is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge and proficiency in mathematics concepts, including GCSE syllabus.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with students of diverse backgrounds and learning styles.
  • Patience, empathy, and enthusiasm for teaching and helping students succeed academically.
  • Ability to adapt teaching strategies and approaches to accommodate individual student needs and learning preferences.
  • Organisational skills and attention to detail to effectively plan lessons, track student progress, and manage instructional materials.
  • Familiarity with educational technologies and resources for mathematics instruction.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and lifelong learning in the field of mathematics education.
  • Positive attitude, flexibility, and willingness to collaborate with colleagues and support the overall mission and goals of the organization.
