Fitter / Turner

Fitter / Turner required for a leading supplier to the offshore oil and gas industry, specializing in providing high-quality components and equipment. The ideal candidate will be based within a commutable distance of their site in St Helens and preferably be time served.

Fitter / Turner Position Overview

Operate manual and computer-controlled machinery, such as lathes, milling machines, and grinders, to manufacture components according to engineering drawings and specifications.
Set up and adjust machines to ensure proper functioning and accuracy of the finished product.
Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics to determine appropriate machining processes and sequences.
Perform precision machining operations, including turning, milling, drilling, boring, and threading, to fabricate components to tight tolerances.
Inspect finished parts to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications, using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges.

Fitter / Turner Position Requirements

Proven experience as a Fitter/Turner or similar role in a manufacturing environment,
Proficiency in operating manual and CNC machining equipment, including lathes, milling machines, and grinders.
