Are you enthusiastic to gain skills and experience working with children and adults with Cystic Fibrosis? We are looking for a Specialist Physiotherapist to join our MDT at the Royal Cornwall Hospital.


You will be joining our small team, with clinical supervision from our Band 7 Cystic Fibrosis Physiotherapist.


This is a fixed term position working 15 hours per week.

To be responsible for the equipment used in carrying out Physiotherapy duties, and to adhere to departmental policy, including competence to use equipment and to ensure the safe use of equipment by others through, teaching, training and supervision of practice.


To comply with the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy and the Health Professions Council codes of ethics and rules of professional conduct.


To demonstrate a sound understanding of Clinical Governance and be active in applying to your work situation, including maintaining own continuous professional development (CPD) by keeping abreast of any new trends, national guidelines, and developments, and incorporate them as necessary into your work.


To maintain clinical competence and be an active member of the in-service training programme by attending and delivering presentations and training sessions at staff meetings, tutorials, and training sessions both in house and by attending external courses and practising reflective practice. To work with your Band 7 in contributing to Multi-professional education.


To participate in the staff appraisal scheme and Personal Development Plan (PDP) as an appraisee and appraiser for more junior staff.

To provide a high standard Physiotherapy service to patients at Royal Cornwall Hospital Trust.


To provide specialist assessment, treatment, and goal setting of Paediatric and Adult Cystic Fibrosis patients in CF clinics, home visits and video consultations. To determine clinical diagnosis and Physiotherapy treatment indicated. You will develop highly specialist skills under the guidance of the Senior Staff.


To attend clinical level discussions/meetings/training relating to your area of work as delegated by your Clinical Team Lead and participate in the regular Multidisciplinary Team meetings and training.


Static Band 6 role with emphasis on developing expert skills in Paediatric and Adult Cystic Fibrosis. The CF Community service is a unique hospital at home service with emphasis on prevention of admission to hospital. There is an expanding new field of well -being in Cystic Fibrosis with exercise testing and promotion of activity and well-being


To work part time, the post involves covering 7 days across the CF Community service if required
Degree in Physiotherapy or equivalent
Comprehensive experience across the acute and community hospital settings, including a range of post qualification rotations including Trauma and Orthopaedics at both Band 5 and 6 levels
Experience of On-call and out of hours working - including managing the risks associated with unsupervised / lone working.
