About the role:

As our Humanities Teacher at Arc Oakbridge School, you will be an integral part of our team who put children and young people at the heart of everything we do. You will plan, assess and deliver outstanding teaching and learning using proven methods and approaches that enable all young people in Key Stage 3 and 4 to learn, whilst ensuring that pastoral needs are also met. You will establish excellent relationships with parents and carers and inspire trust and confidence in pupils, colleagues, families and other professionals.

Currently pupils in Key Stage 3 study both History and Geography, following the National Curriculum and using a variety of resources including those provided by the Hodder Boost platform. At Key Stage 4 we deliver OCR Entry Level qualifications in History and Geography.

This role involves meeting the needs of children and young people in an academically driven and therapeutic school. Candidates should be dedicated to promoting confident and capable young individuals who are well-prepared for their GCSE examinations and beyond. About you:

For this position, we are seeking individuals who either hold QTS or QTLS or are willing to work towards this. We are keen to hear from teachers who have experience working with children who have autism however, due to the supportive culture at Arc Oakbridge School, this position may also be suitable for mainstream and Early Career Teachers who feels they are ready to take on a challenge.

The ideal candidate should demonstrate a proven ability to deliver high-quality and effective teaching, engaging and motivating young people throughout their education. They should have a genuine passion for supporting pupils in their learning and development and a strong commitment to making a positive impact on their lives and education.

Arc Oakbridge School, part of Kedleston Group, is an independent specialist day school in central Birmingham for children and young people with autism aged between the ages of 7 and 16. Our school offers a calm, low arousal, safe, positive and nurturing place where young people with a primary need of autism (ASC), including Asperger’s Syndrome and associated complex needs can learn and grow.
