Job Description

We're currently working with an exciting and progressive regulatory consultancy, who are looking for Consultant and Senior Consultant level Financial Crime specialists to expand their team. If you’re experienced in consultancy or industry, with the skills and aspirations to take on more responsibility across FCC advisory, governance and controls, such as fraud, market abuse or sanctions, this could be a great opportunity to propel your career to the next level.

Responsibilities

  • Provide sound advice to clients in the disciplines of money laundering, sanctions, bribery, market abuse or fraud (financial crime)
  • Produce high quality, technically robust and well reasoned work in line with defined project scope and responsibilities
  • Provide support to areas of the business where not considered an expert
  • Deliver an agreed number of client hours in a set time period – usually annually
  • Contribute to sales and marketing activity such as proposals and regulatory commentary
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge in financial crime and other regulatory areas that will affect our clients
  • Develop a knowledge of emerging and disruptive trends in regulation
  • Understand how the full product and service offerings align to client needs
  • Maintain constructive working relationships with clients, colleagues and other stakeholders
  • Demonstrate trust, respect and an understanding and commitment to our client’s values and behaviours
  • Support the well-being of colleagues by your approach to day-to-day work
  • Recognise the value of innovative and creative approaches to your day-to-day work

Person specification

Essential

  • Alignment to client’s values
  • At least 4 years relevant experience (industry, consulting, regulator)
  • Comprehensive working knowledge of the UK financial crime regulatory framework
  • Strong written communication skills and excellent attention to detail
  • Strong verbal communication
  • An entrepreneurial mindset
  • Ability to think for yourself and anticipate what is required with minimal direction
  • A long-term mindset and a passion for self-improvement
  • Desire to work for a small organisation with minimal bureaucracy
  • Able to listen more than you talk
  • Desire to be yourself and show your personality at work
  • Fluent with Microsoft Office tools

Desirable

  • A strong network of professionals in financial crime prevention roles
  • Experience of delivering audit / independent review
  • Relevant qualifications e.g. from ICA, ACAMS
  • Experience of drafting policy, procedure and risk assessment
  • Ability to influence through persuasive written or verbal communication
  • Experience in implementing, enhancing and/or conducting assurance over financial crime technology solutions
  • Microsoft Office power user
