Application Support Analyst - Unix / SQL - FinTech - London/Hybrid - up to £60,000 plus bonus and benefits An award winning FinTech company that processes over 2.5 million contracts per day with a value of $3 trillion for over 100 clients are hire an experience Application Support Analyst to join their rapidly expanding production support team. You will work with their dynamic production support team where the applications delivering the services have significant server based data processing components and a behind-the-scenes data gateway systems. Our services are delivered over the internet via an interactive user interface. This is a unique opportunity to increase delivery capacity and product offering. You also have the opportunity to grow in support as the company grows, taking advantage of our career ladder framework. Role Responsibilities:

  • Investigate and resolve complex Production issues (Levels 2 and 3) for internal systems and clients.
  • Work independently, prioritize tasks, and collaborate with other teams as needed.
  • Triage tickets and ensure timely responses to internal and external client queries.
  • Identify and address common issues, minimizing dependency on the development team.
  • Take ownership of onboarding new services for clients and update system configurations.
  • Automate processes, propose solutions, and implement permanent fixes for recurring issues.
  • Enhance team knowledge by discussing resolutions and suggesting improvements.
  • Utilize and improve the in-house monitoring system and manage alerts.
  • Ensure continuous monitoring of critical data and improve support for existing products.
  • Efficiently hand over new products to the support team with adequate documentation.
  • Participate in meetings, handle production incidents, and manage problem-solving activities.
  • Lead incident review meetings, propose action points, and follow up on resolutions.
  • Collaborate closely with the Tech Support Lead, share responsibilities, and coordinate out-of-hours support.
Challenges:
  • Quickly understand the complex technical structure of the services.
  • Become the primary contact for support issues, ensuring thorough documentation and knowledge transfer.
  • Minimize developer involvement in support issues by transferring knowledge to the support team.
  • Gain a solid understanding of business logic and mentor junior support team members.
  • Become an expert in the business, products, and technology.
Essential skills:
  • Degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Strong Unix/Linux and SQL knowledge.
  • Programming skills.
  • Ability to apply support experience in a fast-paced environment.
  • Highly motivated, punctual, and organized with strong troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to understand and manage complex systems and prioritize support issues.
  • Effective communication skills, especially during incidents, and ability to guide and train the support team.
  • Familiarity with encryption protocols, file transfer protocols (e.g., FTP/SFTP), and networking.
  • Willingness to work out of hours and confident in client interactions.
