An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Dental Team Coordinator to join the Lancashire & South Cumbria Dental Service to lead and support the Dental Teams at Barbara Castle Way, Royal Blackburn Hospital and Darwen.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, motivated and highly driven individual, with the ability to motivate others. You will need to be able to demonstrate experience of excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to manage change and support colleagues around the current dental contract. You will need to be proactive, innovative and able to keep quality, service users and the team at the heart of everything you do.

You will need to have a good knowledge of the dental Service and also be registered with the General Dental Council as a healthcare professional.

Main duties of the job

Within the co-production model provide effective and efficient leadership and management

To line manage and provide support and supervision to the Dental Team

To manage and be responsible for meeting the Team's access and performance targets to work closely with the Associate Clinical Director, Clinical Co-ordinators, Dental Service Co-ordinators and Clinical Team Lead to ensure service delivery and to maintain the smooth running of the department.

  • In depth knowledge of Service areas: Community Dental Service, Personal Dental Service, Emergency Dental Service, Oral Health Promotion Understand governance issues affecting the Lancashire Care Dental Service Knowledge of the local dental situation

  • Experience in the provision of clinical support for a wide range of patients in a wide range of settings IT skills Management / supervisory experience Experience in the development of roles, including job descriptions and the Personal development review process Experience in budget management
