Wine Evangelist

D Vine Cellars is a staunchly independent wine retailer and wine bar. We have around 500 different wines on our shelves with a focus on sourcing wines from small, interesting producers, with a particular focus on new world organic and biodynamic winemaking.

We are looking for someone who can work five shifts a week from Wednesday to Sunday and ideally to start asap, in our shop and bar situated next to Clapham High Street Clapham North Stations

You will need to be :

- Able to smile and be passionate about wine

- Ideally live within a 40 minute commute to work

- Qualified to WSET 2(or similar) or above

- To make good coffee is desirable (but not essential)

- Able to build rapport with customers and advise on wine, spirits and specialist beer purchases at all levels.

- Posses a sales instinct and commercial awareness to help grow retail sales and on premise sales

- Driven and self-motivating attitude that has a "can do" aptitude. A tidy and organised manner also required.

- An attention to detail, moderate level of physical fitness as well as a good degree of common sense

- Ensuring compliance with licensing, hygiene and health and safety legislation/guidelines

We will give you an opportunity to learn and taste through wines on a regular basis including with distributors and at trade tastings.

We are a small team and work together well and would like to find someone who will fit into our ethos. You will need to be confident in facilitating sales in store, maintain stock and store appearance.

You will also be engaged in marketing activities to promote D Vine Cellars. We want to find someone who takes ownership of their role here and has great initiative and attention to detail and can voice their opinion with any ideas they have that may help us move forward.

Pay is depending on experience. Both midweek and weekend shifts will need to be covered and we aim to get all of our employees on a regular roster.

You will be working for people who are super passionate about wine and most importantly, their employees.We like to think our people have as much character as the wines they sell. The position will enable you to rapidly develop an all round knowledge base and skillset that will broaden relationships within the wine trade.

Package

• Basic salary from £24 - 28k + Service and bonus based on experience.
• 42 hour contract
• 20 days holiday excluding public holidays
