Are you a skilled Control System Engineer with a passion for developing cutting-edge automation solutions? Look no further Our client, a renowned manufacturer specializing in a range of innovative packaging equipment, is seeking a Control System Engineer to join their dynamic team based in Derby. Our client is a market leader in providing state-of-the-art packaging solutions with rotary thermoforming machinery, rigid blister making equipment, and pouch machinery. With a commitment to excellence and a focus on delivering high-quality products, they have established themselves as a trusted partner in their industry.

You'll play a key role in designing, implementing, and optimizing control systems using your expertise in Allen Bradley machinery. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the seamless integration of automation solutions into their manufacturing processes. This is a Full-Time, Permanent position

What you'll be doing
  1. Design and develop control systems for packaging equipment, ensuring reliability, efficiency, and compliance with industry standards
  2. Program and configure Allen Bradley PLCs and HMIs (Rockwell / Mitsubishi) to control and monitor equipment functions
  3. Collaborate with mechanical and electrical engineers to integrate control systems into overall equipment design
  4. Conduct testing and troubleshooting of control systems to identify and resolve issues in a timely manner
  5. Provide technical support and guidance to internal teams and customers on control system functionality and operation
  6. Complete detailed documents for projects to be passed to other engineering departments and for the end user, such as FDSs, FATs, User Manuals etc
  7. Follow SOPs for controlled software development
  8. Upgrade existing equipment and integrate new automation
  9. Support sales and build customer relationships
  10. Meet project deadlines and support production

Hours: Monday-Friday, Day Shifts (40 Hours)

Pay: Up to £55,000 per annum (Depending on Experience)

Skills/Experience Required
  • HNC / HND qualification in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in control systems engineering, preferably in the manufacturing industry
  • Experience with special purpose machinery such as rotary machines, process equipment, and air, vacuum & mechanical conveyors would be an advantage
  • Software design & PLC software experience (Rockwell / Siemens etc)
  • Strong proficiency in programming Allen Bradley PLCs and HMIs
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal and time management skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office packages such as Excel, Word, and Outlook etc
  • Ability to work as an individual or as part of a team
