A fast growing global energy company is looking for a Manufacturing Technician to join their team.You will be responsible forperforming various tasks in the manufacturing process in accordance with company operating standards. The Technician’s main role is to operate and maintain the 3-axis CNC dispensing machine.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform manufacturing tasks in accordance with the standard operational procedures
  • Liaise with Quality team to ensure that manufacturing processes run in accordance with company operating standards
  • Evaluate data and draft reports, noting any relevant deviations from existing standards
  • Work with Manufacturing Engineers and Quality Manager to determine most practicable criteria and methods to ensure quality of the product
  • Observe all health and safety requirements
  • React to day to day problems associated with the operation of his/her responsibilities
  • Undertake and complete additional tasks, as assigned by the Manufacturing Team lead
  • Having a keen eye for detail in regards to the quality of the dispensed silicone bead.
  • Able to make decisions on whether a plate or dispensed bead passes or fails the visual QC process.
  • Interpreting data from the QC team in order to make adjustments to the dispense program or alignment.
  • Assembly and disassembly of parts and mechanical components related to the functioning of the CNC machine.
  • Able to adjust parameters within the CNC software and make alterations to code within dispense programs.
  • Using the tools, materials and equipment within the lab to produce a viable silicone mix to dispense gaskets.
  • Use cleaning equipment to the ensure the cleanliness and smooth operation of the CNC machine, notably the silicone pump.
  • Good communication skills with the rest of Production team to ensure everyone is clear on deadlines, stock, production output etc.
  • Helping with other areas of manufacturing when required (stack build, module build, wiring, conditioning etc.)

  • Required Skills and Experience:
    • Ability to follow work in accordance with the standard operational procedures

    • Ability to read engineering drawings

    • Computer literacy; Familiarity with Microsoft applications: Excel (preferred) and Outlook (essential)

    Desirable :
    • Experience in working in a technically focused environment

    • Background in manufacturing

    • Experience of working in semiconductor, printed circuit board, automotive or related industries

    • Previous quality control measurement and reporting experience

    • Experience of working with chemicals under COSHH

    • A team-player capable of communicating concepts clearly and concisely in written and verbal form

    • Self-motivated and confident working with specialist engineers and scientists

    • Experience in the running and/ or maintenance of a CNC machine.
