The role incorporates hardware design, implementation, testing and support of software integration and team management.
Provide mentorship to other team members, including the provision of annual reviews and development plans.
Support of product approval, software integration and project delivery, ensuring that the products, tools and processes remain fit for purpose and enable continuous improvement of them by proactively dealing with obsolescence.
Design and development at component/PCB/enclosure level and integration of COTS based hardware products/systems with custom application software, including tools and processes within the business.
Instead, we’ve listed some that we think will help you succeed and grow in this role:
Degree or equivalent experience in an electronics/electrical engineering discipline.
C&G Requirements for Electrical Installations (16th or 17th edition).
Analogue and digital circuit design including COM carrier board design.
Proficient with designing for EMC compliance with sound knowledge of EMC testing.
Able to build/specify/deploy PC based solutions, including OS deployment and configuration.
Able to produce product V&V test specifications and perform testing.
Digital hardware and firmware.
Housekeeping with Intel processors.
Bus translation e.g., PCIe to local buses.
Serial and parallel buses.
Configuration/version control.
Design analysis – timing diagrams etc.
Knowledge of embedded software and operating systems.
Set-up and configuration of development tools.
