An outstanding opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and passionate educator to join a dynamic secondary school in Slough as the Head of Social Sciences. This Ofsted-rated GOOD school is seeking an inspiring leader to spearhead their Social Sciences department and drive excellence in teaching and learning.

Key Responsibilities:

**Ensure compliance with school policies, including those related to safeguarding and student welfare. **Provide strategic leadership and management of the Social Sciences department.
**Develop and implement a high-quality curriculum that meets the needs of all students.
**Foster a culture of high expectations, continuous improvement, and innovation within the department.
**Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of teaching and learning strategies to ensure outstanding outcomes for all students.
**Support and mentor staff within the department to achieve their full potential.
**Collaborate with other departments and senior leadership to promote cross-curricular initiatives and whole-school priorities.

Requirements:
**Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a relevant degree.
**Significant teaching experience within the Social Sciences subject area (e.g., Sociology, Psychology, Politics).
**Proven track record of successful leadership and management within a secondary school setting.
**Strong knowledge of the Social Sciences curriculum and current educational best practices.
**Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
**Ability to inspire, motivate, and support staff and students alike.
**Commitment to continuous professional development and a passion for educational excellence.

Desirable Attributes:
**Experience of leading a department through an Ofsted inspection.
**Additional qualifications or professional development in educational leadership or management.
**Experience in developing innovative teaching practices and using data to inform decision-making.
