Position Overview: Are you a seasoned Design Manager with a background in mechanical design, particularly in special purpose machinery? Our client is looking for a visionary leader who can inspire and guide a team of engineers and draftsmen to deliver cutting-edge solutions. As the Design Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving design excellence, project success, and team collaboration. Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of 8 design professionals to ensure the timely and successful completion of projects.
  • Provide guidance, mentorship, and technical expertise to team members, fostering a culture of innovation, creativity, and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee the development and execution of design projects, from concept to completion, ensuring adherence to quality standards, budgetary constraints, and project timelines.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, engineering, and operations, to optimize design processes, enhance product performance, and meet customer requirements.
  • Drive innovation and excellence in design, staying abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to maintain a competitive edge in the market.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and/or relevant experience in a related field preferred.
  • Proven experience in machinery manufacturing, with a strong background in mechanical design, particularly special purpose machinery.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities, with experience managing and leading teams of engineers and draftsmen.
  • Proficiency in CAD software and other design tools, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to quality.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with senior management and board.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to addressing challenges and driving solutions.
