Youth Support Worker Start Dates from May 2024 Full & Part Time Positions available, up to 36 hours a week Rate of Pay: £13 - £13.35 per hour (depending on level of prior experience) Teaching Personnel are currently looking to recruit new members of staff to support pupils in a local Pembrokeshire learning provision. The centre caters towards children with IDPs (Individual Development Plans) who are unable at present to attend mainstream education. We are looking for individuals who can help these children out on a 1:1 basis and progress their plans, aiding them towards their future education and employment goals. The pupils in attendance cover a wide range of different learning needs, from social, emotional & mental health conditions (SEMH), histories of self-harm, school phobia & challenging behaviours. The ethos of the school is based off the principals of trauma informed care and learning. Suitable applicants should have one or more of the following:

  • Experience working with individuals that have exhibited challenging behaviours
  • A positive mental attitude and the ability to convey it to others
  • The ability to provide an empathetic and patient approach to learning
  • Experience working with, or knowledge of ALN (additional learning needs) – for example, autism, ADHD or Down Syndrome.

Requirements:
  • The Right to Work in the UK
  • A CV containing an accurate record of your previous ten years of employment and/or education.
  • Successful candidates must be willing to undergo, or have an up-to-date Enhanced Child Workforce DBS certificate on the Update Service
  • Successful candidates will need to register with the EWC (Education Workforce Council)
