Astute's Power team is partnering with an energy from waste power station which is operated by a leading O&M service provider. We are looking to recruit an Assistant Operations Technician to join the Operations Team. The Assistant Operations Technician position comes with a starting salary of £35,000 + benefits and an opportunity to develop a career within the power industry. Responsibilities and duties Reporting to the Shift Team Leader you will: Ensure safe and efficient operation of all activities on site including high pressure boiler, gasification boiler, economizer and fuel gas treatment, turbine and generation. Together with auxiliary plant. Assist the shift team with monitoring the plant via the DCS in the control room, and adjusting in line with operational demands. Assist in the day-to-day compliance with all aspects of environmental permits, reporting any non-compliance or incidents. Carry out routine plant inspections and adjustments as well as collecting and recording plant data. Ensure you are following the health and safety procedures at all times. Professional qualifications We are looking for someone with the following: Apprentice trained in a relevant engineering discipline (qualifications below this may be acceptable if accompanied by suitable experience). Experience working on a heavy industrial site. Awareness of Safe Systems of work IOSH managing safely or similar HSE experience. Any mobile plant licenses would be beneficial. Full UK Driving licence Personal skills The Assistant Operations Technician role would suit someone who is: Able to work unsupervised and take responsibility during dynamic situations. Ability to work with all levels of the organisation. Affable and flexible personality.
