About the Opportunity

Jacobs Nuclear is the Design and Engineering partner for Sellafield under the PPP (Programme and Project Partners). This is a 20-year arrangement to deliver ~£7bn of major projects. We are looking to recruit high value expertise from across regulated and comparable sectors to work in a collaborative environment. PPP is delivering major projects, site wide improvements and provision of supporting services.

Jacobs Nuclear provides the front end design and engineering capability across the PPP portfolio. Being part of the PPP Team offers a unique opportunity to drive change and innovation in engineering, safety and delivery solutions in one of the most complex industrial sites in the UK if not the world. The role of Building Services Engineer will support the HVAC Capability team in all aspects of HVAC and Building Services, preferably with knowledge and experience in nuclear standards and processes, specifically the delivery of the design of HVAC Systems or modification to existing HVAC Systems. Able to be client facing and demonstrate confidence as a subject matter expert hence able to support all stakeholders. Role expectations are: -

* Have experience of working within Building Services engineering design consultancy practice

* Design of Ventilation systems from basic principles and an understanding of containment philosophy

* Experience in the production of HVAC system design deliverables, specifying heat rejection plant (eg. air / water cooled condensers, heat pumps and heat recovery systems of varying types. The design of HVAC systems for cooling industrial process environments.

* Production of system schematics / Engineering Flow Diagrams (EFDs).

* Able to produce and check psychrometric calculations

* Demonstrable experience in a similar role/environment

What you will need as a Building Services Engineer

* Degree in Building Services Engineering

* Experience in the Use of industry standard software such as Hevacomp, Revit and Pipenet

* Demonstrable experience in a similar role/environment

* An understanding of AutoCAD packages and its capabilities
