Senior Project Manager
Working Pattern: 37 hrs per week – Monday to Friday with Hybrid
Location: West Bridgford, Nottingham NG2(Hybrid working)

Via is currently looking for a Senior Project Manager to join our Design & Major Projects Team based at our Trent Bridge House Office in West Bridgford Nottingham.

We are excited to be delivering major improvements to the county’s road network including the creation of sustainable transport solutions.

You will lead a team of project managers to deliver a varied programmeof significant and complex highway and civil engineering projects working across Via’s Design, Construction capability and wider delivery partnerships.

The Job
Key areas of responsibility will include: –

  • To lead and co-ordinate, the planning and delivery of significant and complex projects, understanding company wide and third party dependencies, resource and technical requirements.
  • To plan resource capacity, commitment and forward workflow, working collaboratively across the company.
  • To take responsibility for the scoping, development and achievement of project management services bringing together design and environmental services to enable successful delivery of significant and complex projects, programmes both internally and externally.
  • To provide expertise and manage the process of complex queries for internal and external stakeholders through to resolution.
  • To plan and lead the future business development of the team to achieve growth strategy; expanding the client base, innovating and exploiting market opportunities.
  • Manage, coach and develop a team of technical staff engaged in all aspects of service area to enable individuals to achieve their potential.
  • To hold team to account to comply with all statutory responsibilities including Health, Safety and Environmental, duties, policies and procedures to ensure standards are met.
  • Act as an ambassador across political, professional, business and community networks and events at local and regional level.

The Person

Mainly you will be excited to be a vital part of our Design & Major Projects Team but there are just a few other things we’d like from you: –

  • Proven experience of managing major projects delivered through appropriate contractual arrangements.
  • Proven experience of managing people and performance to create high performing individuals and team meeting stipulated KPIs.
  • Proven experience of managing a portfolio of large scale highway and civil engineering project.
  • Proven experience of financial management and budgetary monitoring spend to give confidence on delivery programme and out turn costs being to client satisfaction.
  • Proven experience of influencing and communicating at a senior level within internal and external organisations.
  • A degree in Project Management, Civil Engineering, or a related subject and post qualification relevant experience, or equivalent knowledge gained through practical experience in a highway and/or civil engineering project management environment.
  • Membership of a relevant Professional Institution or evidence to demonstrate a commitment to continual professional development.
