The purpose of the post is to act as the Council’s technical and administrative manager for current and future projects and minor works, including the management and setting and monitoring of performance measures and the development, management and interpretation of data to provide management information. You will support and play an active role in achieving value for money the procurement of goods and services to aid in the development of the corporate estate (including schools), goods and wider services. The successful candidate will ensure that the activities and performance of the service contribute to the aims and objectives of the Council and in so doing ensure the Council’s corporate priorities are achieved and maintained. You will be responsible for providing a wide range of professional guidance on day to day and complex project and programme management activities within PFH&S and the wider Council. Working with internal and external key stakeholders to ensure sound decisions are made in delivery and management of the Council’s projects. Perfect candidate will have: PRINCE 2 Project Management or equivalent IOSH Managing safely Good understanding of programme and project management techniques including: Performance and risk management techniques and frameworks Managing and minimising risk within programmes and projects Distilling and interpreting varied and complex range of information to develop genuine insight, identify need and opportunities and inform decision making leading, and delivering through, productive cross-functional project teams Awareness and understanding of the local government framework, governance arrangements, best value and service improvement, risk management and key issues facing local government and public services. Knowledge of best value principles in the commissioning of public services.GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for the development, relationship management and interface with the Service Providers, ensuring that a unified sense of the client premise is maintained at all times. Familiarise themselves with the detailed content of the service specifications for the Property & Facilities Partnership and support the Senior Corporate Programmes Manager with technical and administrate delivery of the contract. Monitor the delivery of services to specified Service Level Requirements (SLRs) within the agreed contract terms, to ensure the continuing high quality of service delivery. Support the Senior Corporate Programmes Manager with driving continuous improvements in the delivery of the services by making recommendations and implementation of the SLRs to ensure that they remain challenging and relevant to the client’s changing requirements.The duties and responsibilities highlighted are indicative and may vary over time. Post holders are expected to undertake other duties and responsibilities relevant to the nature, level and scope of the post and the grade has been established on this basis.
