Hywel Dda University Health Board and Carmarthenshire Local Authority presents an exciting opportunity for two motivated and experienced Occupational Therapists to join our Releasing Time to Care Team.

We are an innovative, well-established integrated review team consisting ofOccupational Therapy and Social Work. We strive to deliver the right support, at the right time in the right place as close to home as possible.

This role will form part of the Releasing Time to Care Service where you will carry out a review assessment with the aim of providing a less intrusive, more personalised package of care to maximise the individual's independence.

We will work together to provide further assessment, intervention, and rehabilitation to improve function, reduce risk of de-conditioning and improve the well-being of individuals within their home.

As a versatile postgraduate, you will need to have knowledge of a range of rehabilitation interventions, complex manual handling, and knowledge in diverse conditions, as well as a good understanding of current issues affecting community and hospital services.

Successful applicants will require an excellent ability to work autonomously, managing and prioritising a diverse caseload, be a highly self -motivated proactive person, with drive and initiative.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will need excellent organisational and communication skills and provide comprehensive and professional interventions through the review assessment process. They will be expected to support and play a role in supervising junior Occupational Therapy staff and students.

Person Specification

Qualifications and Knowledge

Essential


  • Degree in Occupational Therapy
  • Current HCPC registration
  • Knowledge of relevant current health and social care legislation applicable to role
  • Knowledge and application of Microsoft Office software
  • Understanding of the roles of other staff groups in health and social care
  • Knowledge of a range of rehabilitation interventions across all therapies
  • Understanding and application of clinical governance, including research and audit methodology
  • Understanding and application of relevant outcome measures to demonstrate effectiveness

Desirable


  • Knowledge of other services that link across primary/secondary/intermediate care
  • Working knowledge of therapeutic equipment.
  • Knowledge of Health Board and priorities.
  • Accredited Practice Educator
  • Accredited Agored Assessor

Experience

Essential


  • Significant post graduate experience of working as an occupational therapist across a range of settings and variety of conditions
  • Managing a complex and varied caseload
  • Working independently with indirect or arms length supervision.
  • Delegation and Supervision of staff
  • Experience of coping independently with distressing or emotional situations in challenging work environments
  • Working as part of a team.
  • Experience of contributing to service development and implementing service changes
  • Direct involvement with carers and families
  • Self-development and application of learning
  • Use of adapted techniques for improving patient outcomes

Desirable


  • Experience of working with groups
  • Experience of working in a community setting
  • Experience of using virtual communication platforms for delivering service.
  • Experience in same clinical area as post being applied for
