Commissioning Engineer – Permanent – Variable Speed Drives – £50-55k + £6k car allowance + bonus

Samuel Frank is recruiting for an experienced Commissioning Engineer to join a systems integrator with a base in Shropshire. The successful Commissioning Engineer will be responsible for the commissioning of automation and control systems and site support for PLCs, AC/DC drive systems, robots, networks and SCADA systems.

Key aspects of the Commissioning Engineer role include;

  • Previous experience of working for a systems integrator – essential requirement
  • Electrically biased and qualified
  • Strong knowledge of AC/DC drive systems, PLCs (ideally have some knowledge of both Siemens & Rockwell products) & SCADA systems
  • Likely to have experience of drive control & automation in industries such as metal, printing, automotive or paper manufacturing etc.
  • Variable Speed Drive support of Siemens, ABB, Rockwell, CT and/or Danfoss drives. To include commissioning, fault finding and repair
  • Any experience of robot commissioning and repair could be very useful
  • The role will involve extensive UK and some international travel so eligibility to work in the UK and gain visas for non-EU countries easily is a requirement for the role.
  • Good industrial networking experience – Ethernet, Profibus or Modbus
  • The company is accredited to ISO9001:2001 and has a proven track record of successful project delivery.

The company has bases in Cheshire and the West Midlands and whilst the successful Commissioning Engineer isn’t working away, there will be a requirement to be involved with the final stages of testing on the shop floor, attend meetings etc. so the ideal places to live include Birmingham, Wolverhampton, Telford, Stafford, Shrewsbury, Bridgnorth, Codsall and Penkridge.
