As a Principal Software Engineer, you will be tasked to lead the engineering within a senior-orientated team of a global trading platform handling and processing thousands of orders per day. Used by a multi-million customer base globally, the platform is a cloud-based solution on AWS where you will be working deeply across the architecture, backend development and deployment onto the cloud. There is a strong focus on multi-threaded, low-latency and security/compliance led engineering due to the platform.

Holding over 15 years' of engineering experience, you will be expected to fully own and lead the engineering lifecycle with a strong understanding in Golang and Python. You will need to be able t understand and uplift legacy systems (C/Perl in this case) that can be re-engineered in Golang and Python whilst be able to actively participate in high-level technical architecture and technical roadmap decisions alongside the VP of Engineering and Engineering Directors.

Golang, gRPC, REST, Python 3, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Perl/C (Legacy stack), AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Agile, DDD, TDD.
With over 20 years' of experience as a leading trading platform, they have a great reputation for engineering excellence and have won multiple awards for their culture. With international locations, they have a UK HQ in Reading which you'll be expected to travel to on a hybrid basis each month.

Offering a base salary of £115k - £130k GBP plus 10-20% annual bonus. Other benefits include full private healthcare, quarterly pay/performance reviews, 8% pension contribution, 28 days annual leave (plus UK bank holidays) and much more?
