Job Overview We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to join our team in overseeing the day-to-day operations of our Wakefield site. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring smooth operations, managing staff, and implementing strategies to improve efficiency and productivity. Responsibilities Oversee daily operations, ensuring all processes run smoothly and efficiently with a staff of 60 people. Develop and implement operational policies and procedures. Monitor performance metrics to identify areas for improvement Manage a team of 5 staff, providing guidance and support. Collaborate with other departments to streamline operations and enhance overall performance Support Business Director in achieving profitability and return on sales targets. Continuously improve product quality and optimise manufacturing cost. Support commercial growth with reduced lead times, product innovation and competitive product cost. Develop and drive a long-term and strategic planning for operations inclusive of capital expenditure plans. Promoting a culture where health and safety is the number one priority. Continuously develop and grow the operations team to support business growth. Analyse data to make informed decisions and drive operational improvements. Skills Engineering qualification required. Proven experience in an operations management role with manufacturing. Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively. Metal based product manufacturing experience is desirable but not essential. Excellent organisational and time-management abilities Lean / Six Sigma Experience Analytical mindset with problem-solving skills Effective communication skills, both verbal and written- Proficient in using relevant software and tools to track operations data.
