Bid Writer

Westlakes Recruit are currently recruiting for an Bid/Proposals writer with a background in engineering/construction to be engaged on a permanent basis in Warrington, Cheshire (Flexible Working available).

To write and prepare bid submissions to meet tender requirements and exceed quality expectations.
· To assist the bid team by co-ordinating documents through a structured review process.

Writing, editing and production of bespoke and specific submission documents and material. This includes the gathering, collating and writing of material from subject matter experts in order to meet the requirements for pre-qualification and tender submissions
· Plan, facilitate and manage workshops, for example answer planning, reviews etc · Capture and support development of bid 'win themes' from tender strategy meetings · Carry out independent and critical reviews of submission documents
· Liaise with Pre-construction Managers, Bid Managers, and Account Managers producing bespoke material to support business development and account management activities
· Coordinate and produce case studies, value reports, brochures, presentations and other required collateral/communications material to support account and opportunity engagement

QUALITIES AND EXPERIENCE

The following qualities and experience are essential:

· Previous experience of bid writing and preparing quality submissions (2 years minimum within a similar role)

· Thorough knowledge and experience of the techniques and methods of proposal writing, general management and the requirements for quality presentations and customer-focused communication
· Excellent working knowledge of Word, PowerPoint and Microsoft Office software · High attention to detail with the ability to see tasks through to completion
· An excellent standard of written English, with strong verbal communication skills
· Has ability to engage with and drive the team to produce quality outputs
· Able to work within a multi-discipline team, good at building relationships and can influence effectively

The following qualities and experience are desirable:

· Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud suite and specifically InDesign publishing software
· Experience with use of SharePoint
· Has knowledge of the MEP construction industry, or experience within a project-based organisation.
