Company Description

Our client is seeking an experienced commercial manager to join a marble and joinery company in London.

Role Description

The joinery and marble company is looking for a multiskilled manager to handle commercial and construction responsibilities, reporting to the Director.

Requirements
  1. Meeting with top management and clients to identify project requirements, delivery timelines and costs
  2. Meeting clients to determine their needs and discuss any areas that need revising for price or feasibility
  3. Calculating material quantities and costs, labour costs and an achievable project timeframe
  4. Propose value engineering and feasibility solutions
  5. Developing detailed project plans to guide clients, staff members and project teams and revising based on changing needs and requirements
  6. Coordinate design and execution
  7. Identifying and assigning project tasks based on the skill sets, experience and strengths of staff members
  8. Monitoring project performance to ensure quality and timely delivery
  9. Monitoring subcontractors, safety practices, construction progress and material needs, including any changes which may impact costs
  10. Compiling and submitting project status reports detailing costs and progress to clients, management and other stakeholders
  11. Working effectively with relevant stakeholders for efficient project implementation
  12. Developing excellent leadership, customer relations and communication skills to liaise effectively with all project stakeholders
  13. Advising clients and crew on legal matters and disputes
  14. Negotiating labour contracts and schedules
  15. Preparing labour and supplier accounts for payment
  16. Prepare and submit quotes for tendering
  17. Purchase materials for site and workshop from suppliers
  18. Prepare subcontractors’ contracts
  19. Prepare valuations and final accounts
  20. Monitor company account and cash flow
  21. Monitor workload and timesheets of different teams
  22. Be the first point of contact for the workshop and site team, constantly communicating with the workshop manager and site foreman
  23. Organise import and export of goods, ensuring all legal documents are in place

This role is based in their head office in Victoria, directly managing a team of 2: junior cad technician and an assistant. Workshop team - 8 to 10, Site - 6 to 8, Head office team - 4 total.
