About the role

Mission Statement

The College of Health, Psychology and Social Care has a clear vision – to make a REAL difference to the lives of individuals, families and communities within our region. To be the University of choice for our Health and Social Care partners’ education needs across the region; and to provide an excellent student experience, delivered by highly credible and well qualified lecturer.

About Us

The School of Psychology sits within the College of Health, Psychology and Social Care. Our research has the power to transform lives and promote wellbeing; through the application of research and concepts and principles, we are making a real-world impact.

Our research includes understanding more about people and the planet, and whether compassion-based approaches might offer a solution to the wellbeing and mental health crisis in education.

The Impact you will have

You will be responsible for developing and delivering an innovative and flexible range of learning and teaching materials for our Mental Health Wellbeing Practitioner ( MHWP) training program; working with our undergraduate and post graduate students. Through research and practice informed teaching that embraces a range of theoretical approaches and working with many organisations and agencies across the region, you will be committed to providing an excellent student experience.

What we need you to bring to the team

  • To hold full accreditation with BABCP (high intensity practitioner)
  • To hold a PG Diploma or Masters in Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapy (high intensity)
  • Experience of working with adults with severe and enduring mental health difficulties in a secondary care setting, using CBT informed approaches
  • To be innovative and creative
  • Ability to use a range of delivery techniques to inspire and engage students

What you can expect from us

As a member of the team, you will experience close involvement in the future direction and development of the department, as well as benefit from extensive support to pursue your own research ideas and contribute to our high-quality research profile.

There are opportunities within the School of Psychology to develop your teaching and research skills and numerous opportunities to develop your career.
