To provide high quality CBT to children, young people and adults who present with an eating disorder, including those with a degree of complexity.
To work autonomously within professional guidelines and the overall framework of team policies and procedure.
To provide clinical supervision and mentoring to cognitive behavioural therapists and trainees, and other members of the MDT as required.
To deliver a CBT service in accordance with NICE guidelines, meeting key performance indicators and agreed activity levels.
To provide advice and consultation on clients' care, to non-CBT colleagues and to non-professional carers.
To utilise research skills for audit policy and service development and research within the areas served by the team.
To work with the Team Leaders and Senior Clinical Psychologists/Lead Clinicians to support managing waiting times, prevalence and recovery.
To promote wellbeing and social inclusion.
You should be an excellent communicator and team player, with the successful applicant joining a dynamic multi-disciplinary team of professionals, including Clinical Psychologists, Mental Health Nurses, Dietitians, specialist therapists and medics.


The successful candidate will be expected to deliver high quality psychosocial assessment and specialist CBT intervention to children, young people and adults with eating disorders. You will contribute to the broader aims of the service through joint working, consultation, training, supervision and service development. You will be joining the service at a real time of development and will be able to help influence change going forward.


The post-holder will receive regular supervision and professional support from an experienced therapist and contact with other relevant specialist interest groups would be encouraged.


Lancashire & South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust provides a range of services including secondary mental health care across this area. Specialist provision comprises inpatient child and adolescent mental health services, perinatal mental health and forensic services including low and medium secure care.


The Trust also provides a range of physical health and well-being services in the community alongside a range of partners in the Lancashire, Cumbria and Sefton area.

Formally recognised Cognitive Behaviour Therapy Post Graduate Diploma
Professional qualification in health or social care, e.g. Highly specialist knowledge of the theory and practice of cognitive behaviour therapy.
Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, complex, highly technical and/or clinically sensitive information to clients, their families, carers and other professional colleagues both within and outside the NHS.

Evidence of experience of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy assessment and treatment of clients in mental health services.
Experience and knowledge of providing clinical supervision, utilising appropriate supervision models and safeguarding
