Job Title: Cloud Specialist

In your role as a Cloud Specialist, you’ll bring your technical expertise to bear on interesting and challenging problems within Cyber Security. You will solve real-word problems for customers and deliver solutions in an agile manner and ensure we build exactly what they need to time/cost/quality.

You will have the opportunity to learn about a wide range of technologies, and DevOps practices. The solutions you create will utilise the latest technologies, demonstrate innovation and thought-leadership, and provide brilliant outcomes for customers.

What you’ll do:

Provide the technical direction for the development and delivery of world class secure cloud-based solutions.

Work directly with our customers to understand their requirements and work collaboratively with them to define solutions.

Act as a cloud subject matter expert and evangelist, leading organisational cloud adoption strategies and embedding best practice approaches.

Provide 2nd and 3rd line support for our deployed cloud-based solutions.

Ensure compliance of cloud systems with security policies and regulatory requirements.

Contribute to the design and implementation of cloud solutions.

Translate architectural designs into infrastructure-as-code defined solutions.

Provide third line support to deployed cloud-based solutions.

Either line manage or act as a technical mentor to others in the team, assisting them with their ongoing professional development.

What you'll bring:

A desire to continually update, enhance and validate own skills.

Familiarity with containerisation in the cloud.

Using scripting languages (Python, PowerShell, etc) to define processes and serverless functions.

Have some cloud certifications, though while desirable practical experience is more important.

Have an interest in Security Solutions.

Have a Cloud Certification, such as AWS Practitioner, AWS Architect Associate, etc

Have a Security Certification, SSCP, CCSP, CompTIA Sec+.

Due to the sensitive nature of this role you will be required to undergo DV (Developed Vetting) level Security Clearance ( ).

The role is subject to you gaining and keeping the necessary level of security clearance needed to undertake your work. The result of the security clearance vetting is not subject to appeal. Failure to successfully achieve and maintain the necessary level of security clearance may see any offer of employment with BT cease or withdrawn or may cause a role change or possibly lead to termination of employment.
