We are seeking a motivated and skilled Textiles Teacher to inspire and educate students in the art and craft of textiles. As we continue to expand our curriculum, we are excited to announce an opening for a passionate and experienced Textiles Teacher to join our team in September. Position: Role: Textiles Teacher Location: Stepney, London School Type: Mixed, Secondary School Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent Start Date: September 2024 Start Key Responsibilities: Plan and deliver high-quality lessons in Textiles for students of varying abilities. Develop and implement a dynamic curriculum that covers textile techniques, design principles, and the history of textiles. Assess and evaluate student progress, providing constructive feedback and support. Maintain an inspiring and well-organized classroom environment. Encourage and support students in developing their own creative projects. Collaborate with other departments to integrate textiles into cross-curricular activities. Participate in school events, exhibitions, and extra-curricular activities. Requirements: A degree in Textiles, Art and Design, or a related field. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is preferred. Experience teaching Textiles at the secondary school level. Strong knowledge of textile techniques, including weaving, embroidery, dyeing, and sewing. Excellent communication and organizational skills. A passion for fostering creativity and innovation in students. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a dedicated teaching team.
