We're Hiring: Engineering Manager / Chief Engineer

We now need a highly skilled and experienced Engineering Manager / chief engineer to support our Founder by leading our team of engineers in the successful delivery of mechanical systems projects for automotive (and other) clients. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise and excellent collaborative and leadership skills in managing projects within the automotive sector.

Responsibilities
  1. Lead and manage a team of engineers involved in the design, development, and implementation of mechanical systems for automotive applications, including chassis, suspension, and body systems.
  2. Collaborate with clients to understand project requirements, establish project scopes, and define deliverables.
  3. Oversee the entire project lifecycle, from concept development to final delivery, ensuring adherence to quality standards, timelines, and budgets.
  4. Provide technical guidance and support to the engineering team, resolving technical challenges and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  5. Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the team, promoting the adoption of new technologies and best practices.
  6. Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including design, manufacturing, and testing, to ensure seamless project execution and client satisfaction.
  7. Monitor project progress, identify risks and issues, and implement corrective actions as necessary to mitigate delays and ensure project success.
  8. Manage client relationships, serving as the primary point of contact for project-related inquiries and fostering long-term partnerships.
Requirements
  1. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; Master's degree preferred.
  2. Experience in engineering management roles within the automotive industry, with a focus on mechanical systems.
  3. In-depth knowledge of automotive mechanical systems, including chassis, suspension, and body systems.
  4. Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve project objectives.
  5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with clients, stakeholders, and team members.
  6. Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies, having successfully managed projects from conception to completion.
  7. Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to addressing technical challenges and project risks.
  8. Familiarity with industry regulations and standards is preferred.
  9. Experience working on whole vehicle concept layouts is required.
  10. Ability to travel occasionally for client meetings and project-related activities.
