Technical Network: Operations Director - Manufacturing
Salary: Six figure package
Location: Herefordshire (relocation assistance available)
Technical Network is working in partnership with a market-leading global manufacturer seeking an Operations Director for their Midlands-based production facility.
Role Overview:Reporting to the Managing Director, the Operations Director will be responsible for all production operations and output to achieve customer orders On Time In Full (OTIF), Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), and meeting high safety and quality metrics.
You will be a strong communicator, advocating for engagement with internal stakeholders, workforce, unions, and external stakeholders to promote operational efficiency, quality, health and safety, people development, cost efficiency, and delivery.
Key Responsibilities:- Ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery across all business areas
- Driving Health & Safety initiatives and fostering a strong safety culture
- Leading the organization on its Lean Journey for continuous productivity and efficiency improvement
- Providing overall direction for cost-effective operations and planning
- Assuring product quality
- Improving the performance of direct reports through effective communication
Applications are sought from experienced Senior leadership professionals with a proven record of success in Operational or Manufacturing Management within a manufacturing environment.
- Background in aerospace, automotive, performance materials, medical devices, or similar highly regulated quality metric manufacturing sector
- Strong lean toolbox knowledge and ability to drive Continuous Improvement activities
- Demonstrated history of achieving profit and business growth through effective planning, cost control, and operational leadership
- Strong communication skills to build relationships with the workforce
- Qualification in Engineering or Technical discipline with additional professional qualifications preferred
