Contract Type: Contractor (Outside IR35), Full-Time – up to 5.5 days per week

Position Overview
We are seeking a qualified Civil QC Inspector to join our project team in Talacre, UK. Reporting directly to the Quality Control Manager , the Civil QC Inspector will ensure that all civil construction and installation activities comply with the project’s Quality Control Plan , relevant standards, and specifications.
This role is key to maintaining the highest quality standards across foundations, concrete, reinforcement, structural steel, and associated civil and HVAC works, ensuring safety, reliability, and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities
Perform inspections and quality checks on materials, equipment, steel structures, and civil/HVAC installations in line with the approved Quality Control Plan (QCP) .
Follow established QC procedures, maintain accurate Quality Records , and issue Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) as required.
Verify foundation preparation , formwork, and reinforcement prior to concrete pouring.
Monitor concrete operations , including environmental conditions and curing processes, ensuring adherence to specifications.
Review and verify material certifications , mix designs, chemical analyses, and grain size reports.
Examine laboratory test reports for density, moisture content, and compressive strength.
Inspect materials and components (e.g., wire, fittings, formwork accessories) for compliance before use.
Oversee casting and pouring operations to ensure correct procedures and quality standards are met.
Organize, maintain, and archive all testing, control, and inspection documentation .
Ensure all civil work and testing records are included in the As-Built dossier .
For subcontractor works, verify proper implementation of approved Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) and ensure relevant QC records are submitted.
Support the Quality Control Manager in ensuring all site activities meet contractual and regulatory quality requirements.

Requirements
Experience: Minimum 5 years as a Civil QC Inspector or equivalent, and at least 10 years in QC activities within the Oil & Gas or similar heavy construction industry.
Education: Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
Technical Skills: Expertise in quality control inspection, civil works monitoring, and implementation of QC procedures.
IT Skills: Proficient in Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
Right to Work: Must currently reside in the UK with full, permanent UK right-to-work status (visa sponsorship not available).

Key Competencies
Solid knowledge of civil and structural construction practices.
Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and standards.
Strong communication and coordination skills with site and subcontractor teams.
Integrity and objectivity in quality control decisions.
Attention to detail and ability to work independently.
Proficiency in documentation, reporting, and quality management tools.
