Fleet and Plant Manager

We have an exciting opportunity for a Fleet & Plant Manager to join our Group Procurement Team. This role will strategically lead the fleet and plant teams and will be key in developing the departmental strategy along with its roll out and delivery.

Location: Flexible, agile working with travel to Rushden, Northamptonshire (estimated 1-2 days per month)

Contract: Permanent, full-time and able to consider part-time opportunities

Responsibilities

As a Fleet & Plant Manager, your day-to-day responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  1. Working closely with our Head of Direct Procurement to develop and deliver fleet and plant strategy as part of the wider group procurement strategy.
  2. Working with Category Managers and stakeholders to identify and provide a robust supply chain, ensuring any opportunities to improve margin are captured and reported.
  3. Maintaining governance of the fleet and plant supply chain ensuring all regulatory requirements are adhered to.
  4. Developing close and collaborative relationships with stakeholders and transport managers within the divisions to promote the departments services and supply chain, managing and reducing any potential risk.
  5. Working collaboratively with fleet and plant outsource partners to develop more innovative ways of working, introducing more effective and efficient processes.
  6. Monthly reporting including KPI's, supplier risks and supplier performance.
  7. Supporting the development of Kier's Fleet and Plant Sustainability Strategy along with stakeholders within the divisions.
What are we looking for?

This role of Fleet & Plant Manager is great for you if you have:

  • Demonstrable fleet and plant management experience, and proven experience as a Fleet Manager, preferably in the highways, construction or utility industry.
  • Fleet and plant hire procurement experience, and demonstrable knowledge of the Plant Hire Industry.
  • Proven expertise in managing all aspects of Company Car & Benefits provision, as well as Operational Vehicles (LCV and HGV).
  • Ideally hold a Certificate of Professional Competence in National Road Haulage.
  • An ability to present, interpret and set strategy, and able to manage conflicting projects/demands.
  • Effective team leadership and development skills.
  • Ability to manage and effectively communicate with key stakeholders to achieve desired outcomes for all parties.
