Job Title: Corporate Head of Service - Mental Health

Location: Kingston upon Thames

Contract Type: 4-month Contract, Hybrid

Pay Rate: £550/day

As the Corporate Head of Service - Mental Health, you will play a pivotal role in the collective and constructive leadership in Kingston upin Thames. Working as a member of the Corporate Leadership Group, you will provide the leadership necessary to create conditions for success, working seamlessly across organisational boundaries.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide effective project leadership to ensure that cross-cutting and service-related projects achieve desired outcomes.
  • Influence the commissioning of services and activities to secure the best outcomes for service users while delivering optimum value for money, in alignment with commissioning and contract management frameworks.
  • Translate internal and external intelligence to continually adapt and improve the service in line with demand.
  • Manage the performance of the service, collaborating with colleagues to define outcomes, set targets, and monitor performance within a culture of continual improvement.
  • Lead the transformation in culture within the Mental Health team and alongside partner organisations, fostering asset strength-based conversations with residents and their families to promote self-care and positive behaviour changes enhancing health and well-being.
  • Drive the reduction of demand for long-term support by developing services that maximise individual's independence and effectively signpost people to networks of support within the community.
  • Transform the relationship between the Council and residents, establishing a new offer focusing on individual and community resilience.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in senior leadership roles within mental health services or related fields.
  • Strong project management skills with a track record of achieving desired outcomes.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Knowledge of commissioning and contract management frameworks.
  • A commitment to continuous improvement and innovation in service delivery.
  • Experience in cultural transformation and fostering collaborative working relationships.
