Job Title: Senior Design Manager (Prison Experience)
About Us: We are seeking a Senior Design Manager with significant prison experience to join our team in Oxfordshire. This is an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact on the criminal justice system by contributing to the design and development of state-of-the-art correctional facilities.
Role Overview: As a Senior Design Manager with prison experience, you will be responsible for overseeing the design, planning, and implementation of correctional facility projects. You will work closely with internal teams, external stakeholders, and design professionals to ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and security.
Lead the design and development of correctional facilities, from concept through to completion, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
* Manage a team of designers, architects, and consultants, providing guidance and support throughout the project lifecycle.
* Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including operations, security, and finance teams, to develop design briefs and project specifications.
* Liaise with external stakeholders, such as government agencies, contractors, and local authorities, to obtain necessary approvals and permits.
* Oversee the preparation of design drawings, specifications, and tender documents, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
* Conduct site visits and inspections to monitor progress, resolve design issues, and ensure compliance with contractual requirements.
* Review and evaluate design proposals, making recommendations for improvements as necessary.
* Manage project budgets, schedules, and resources effectively, identifying and mitigating risks to ensure successful project delivery.
* Keep abreast of industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies, incorporating new ideas and innovations into the design process.
Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
* Proven experience in the design and management of correctional facility projects, with a minimum of 8 years in a similar role.
* In-depth knowledge of prison design standards, security requirements, and regulatory frameworks.
* Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and other relevant design software.
* Willingness to travel and work flexible hours as required.
