About Our Client
Michael Page Logistics is actively supporting an expanding Logistics Distribution and Supply Chain business with a Transport Planner role in Oxford. The company provides superior services to its clients across the UK, priding itself on its commitment to efficient and sustainable operations.
The Transport Planner will be part of a team who will manage and optimise the transport operations. The role calls for the effective coordination of all transport activities, ensuring swift delivery and customer satisfaction.Job Description
The Transport Planner will be responsible for the below:
- Manage and optimise transport operations for maximum efficiency.
- Coordinate all transport activities, ensuring swift delivery.
- Work in line with company procedures and industry regulations.
- Oversee the scheduling and routing of deliveries.
- Ensure customer satisfaction through timely and effective communication.
- Monitor and report on transport costs, productivity and efficiency.
- Maintain a safe working environment in line with health and safety regulations.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the transport department.
- Utilise subcontractors as and when necessary
The Successful Applicant
A successful Transport Planner will have the following skills and experience:
- Experience in a similar role within the Logistics Distribution and Supply Chain industry.
- Excellent organisational and planning skills.
- Proficiency in transport management systems.
- Strong communication and interpersonal
- An understanding of health and safety regulations within a transport environment.
- CPC Transport Manager qualification is highly advantageous.
