Chartered Surveyor

Job Purpose: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chartered Surveyor to join our team, specializing in insurance works. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing professional surveying services, conducting property assessments, preparing detailed reports, and managing claims related to insurance work. This role requires a deep understanding of both surveying practices and insurance industry standards.Key Responsibilities:
Property Assessment: Conduct thorough site inspections and assessments of residential, commercial, and industrial properties damaged due to insured events such as fire, flood, subsidence, and other risks.
Report Preparation: Prepare detailed, accurate reports for insurance claims, including cause and extent of damage, recommended repairs, and cost estimates.
Claims Management: Work closely with insurance companies, policyholders, and other stakeholders to manage and process claims efficiently and effectively.
Compliance and Standards: Ensure all work complies with relevant industry standards, regulations, and company policies.
Client Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact for clients, providing expert advice and guidance throughout the insurance claims process.
Project Management: Oversee repair and restoration projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required standard.
Risk Assessment: Identify and evaluate potential risks associated with properties and insurance claims, and advise on mitigation strategies.
Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and regulations to continuously improve service delivery.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Surveying, Construction, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
Professional Qualification: Chartered status with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) or equivalent.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in surveying with a focus on insurance works.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in using surveying equipment and software, understanding of building construction and pathology, and strong analytical skills.
Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex information clearly and concisely.
Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and accuracy in reporting and project management.
Problem-Solving: Effective problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and make informed decisions.
Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal and client management skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships.
Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Working Conditions:
Travel: Regular travel to various sites and client locations will be required.
Flexibility: Flexibility in working hours may be required to meet client needs and project deadlines.
