We're looking for a full-time Senior Maintenance Technician (Prehire) to join our Christchurch Team.

Do you enjoy working with vehicles? Do you have some mechanical knowledge? If so, then this might be the job for you

Some of your key qualities will include:

  • Capacity to train and coach crews new to and/or learning various aspects of the role.
  • Pays real attention to detail.
  • Take pride in your work and be willing to roll your sleeves up and get stuck in and help wherever needed.
  • 12-volt electrical, and electronics experience, mechanical skills & knowledge would be an advantage.
  • Restricted Driver's License is a minimum requirement.
  • Experience in areas such as plumbing, gas fitting, electrical or carpentry (optional).
  • Flexibility to work on the roster, which may include weekend or public holidays.
  • Highly tuned attention to detail.
  • Willingness to learn new tasks/skills.
  • Appreciation for quality assurance.

Your role will involve:

  • Ensure all vehicles returning from hire or being made ready for sale are checked and maintained to thl standards
  • Carry out pre-hire checks on thl vehicles to identify any mechanical or interior issues
  • Repair interior vehicle issues/faults to required thl standards
  • Conduct basic mechanical repairs to various makes and models of thl fleet
  • Participate and lead training & development activities to improve personal and team knowledge and service provision
  • To be a visible role model for the team to aspire to and learn from in their day-to-day work.
  • Co-ordinate with Management to distribute the day-to-day workload to the maintenance staff depending on skill and knowledge.
  • Motivate and inspire team members.
  • Lead by setting a good example through behaviour and communication.
  • Facilitate problem-solving and collaboration.
  • Keep the team focused and on track.
