Role Title: Risk Analyst Reports to: Chief Risk and Compliance Officer

Are you passionate about risk management and compliance? We are looking for a talented and experienced Risk Assurance Analyst to join our Risk and Compliance team.
As a Risk Analyst, you will play a critical role in our Risk & Compliance team, providing essential support to our Chief Risk & Compliance Officer.
Your primary focus will be on strengthening our risk assurance processes through rigorous testing, data-driven analysis, and technical expertise. You will be responsible for developing and executing testing protocols to ensure the effectiveness of our risk controls and for enhancing our risk reporting framework. By leveraging your skills in SQL or Python, and data analytics, you will help ensure that our business maintains a robust and compliant risk profile.
Risk Assurance & Testing: Design, implement, and execute comprehensive risk assurance testing protocols to evaluate the effectiveness of risk controls across the organisation. Analyse testing results to identify potential vulnerabilities and recommend corrective actions.
Risk Reporting & Analytics: Develop and maintain a data-driven risk reporting framework using SQL or Python, and advanced analytics techniques. Provide insights that enhance the organisation’s ability to manage risk and support informed decision-making.
Regulatory Compliance: Oversee the preparation and submission of FCA regulatory returns, ensuring that all reports meet regulatory standards. Engage with key stakeholders to manage regulatory relationships and handle regulatory applications and inquiries.
Produce high-quality business papers and reports for key committees, ensuring that stakeholders receive timely, accurate, and actionable information. Risk Appetite & KRIs: Lead the annual review of risk appetite statements and Key Risk Indicators (KRIs), providing clear oversight and actionable insights to senior management and the Board.
Experience: Proven experience in Risk/Compliance within regulated sectors such as Financial Services, Banking, Consumer Credit, Payments, or Insurance. Risk Assurance & Testing: Demonstrated experience in designing and executing risk assurance testing protocols. Ability to assess the effectiveness of risk controls and implement improvements.
Strong proficiency in SQL or Python for data extraction, analysis, and risk testing. Experience with other programming languages such as SAS is a plus.
Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth understanding of FCA regulatory principles and experience in managing regulatory returns and applications.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data, conduct assurance testing, and translate findings into actionable insights.
Software Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, for data manipulation, risk testing, and reporting. Experience with data visualization tools is desirable.
Self-Starter: Independent, proactive, and highly motivated, with a strong commitment to continuous learning and professional development in the field of Risk & Compliance.
Bachelor’s degree in finance, Business, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field.
Certifications: Relevant certifications in Risk Management, Compliance, or Data Analytics (e.g., CFA, FRM, CAMS, or similar) are advantageous.
