Overview   Flint Wines is one of the UK’s leading fine wine merchants. In time, the company began working with producers in other regions, namely Italy and the US, and then acquired Domaines Direct in 2020 with direct access to Roumier, Coche-Dury, Comtes Lafon and the agency for Margaret River’s Leeuwin Estate, amongst others. As we have grown rapidly over the past five years (over 100% sales growth), we have not grown our use of and investment in technology. This person will be responsible for seeing Flint Wines use technology to its full potential so that we as a business can reach our full potential.

Ensure our systems are best integrated with each other, including introducing new systems and managing their integrations (e.g. wine valuation tools and their APIs, critics’ notes and their APIs)

Website: working with external web developers, deliver a website experience which matches what our business stands for and needs.
Ensure our web experience is best in class for three sets of audiences: clients (private client, merchant, on-trade), producers and team
Work with the sales and buying teams to better define our web product and translate that to a development roadmap that we deliver on time and on budget

Data management & reporting: ensuring we have one version of truth of our data, that we are inputting and maintaining it appropriately, and that we have reporting that helps us manage to the right KPIs and metrics
Client data: ensuring that the right processes are in place so that the marketing data in Mailchimp matches the preferences in Navision, and for all three channels
General IT/tech support: liaising our external IT support provider to ensure we are using the right software in the right ways, purchasing the right hardware, and following best practice with regards to cybersecurity, GDPR and data management.
 
At least ten years of experience in a tech-related role (product management or general technology) in a small to medium-sized business, preferably in the wine and spirits industry
Experience using a Microsoft Dynamics-based ERP, or a similar or relevant platform 
Wine knowledge: a basic understanding of fine wine and the overall business landscape
Enjoys building things from scratch, tailoring work to the needs of colleagues and the business
