Selwood Academy are seeking a teacher who will inspire our pupils as part of a faculty which leads the way in teaching and learning and contributes to a successful school which actively promotes and values professional development.
Our Latest OFSTED report from June 2022 shares how ‘Pupils are friendly and polite. Pupils know what is expected of them. Pupils listen carefully to teachers and respond well to their questions. Pupils conduct themselves well.’ As a school we are very proud of the pupils we have and their attitudes to learning.
Selwood is a large Middle school recognised for its warm, caring, vibrant community. We are ambitious for our pupils and work collaboratively with local partners to ensure that all of our stakeholders are able to “let their light shine before others”. This is lived out through diverse educational opportunities, a rigorous and coherent curriculum as well as proactive pastoral support, grounded through our work as a Thrive school. Recognition and wellbeing for staff is at the forefront of our practice and we have policies in place to support this, including a reasonable feedback policy; supportive, centralised behaviour policy supporting you to focus on teaching; a fully research driven CPD calendar including opportunities for staff to take on NPQs and relentless support from all leaders to support all staff to fulfil their potential through high quality CPD and support.
This post would allow you to join the Academy at a very exciting time. The Academy is in discussions about becoming a year 5 to year 11 school. Aiming for the Academy and everyone who works here and learns here to reach their potential. Due to the nature of the school this role would be suitable for a practitioner from a Primary, Secondary or Middle school background.
Can effectively plan, develop and evaluate high quality lessons and be able to lead the planning and delivery of small-group intervention sessions as and when appropriate

Displays a clear vision and passion in their teaching and can motivate those around them.
