Job Title: Platform Engineer / DevOps Engineer (SC Cleared / NPPV3)

Location: United Kingdom (U.K.) - Hybrid

Overview:

We are seeking a talented and experienced DevOps Engineer to join our FinOps project team within the U.K. Public Sector. As a key member of the team, you will play a crucial role in optimizing our financial operations through the effective implementation and management of DevOps practices. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects, contribute to the improvement of financial efficiency, and support the overall mission of the public sector.

Key Responsibilities:

1. DevOps Implementation:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and maintain DevOps pipelines for financial systems within the public sector.
  • Drive the adoption of best practices in continuous integration, continuous deployment, and infrastructure as code.

2. Infrastructure Management:

  • Design, implement, and manage cloud-based infrastructure to support financial applications.
  • Ensure the scalability, security, and availability of infrastructure components.

3. Collaboration and Communication:

  • Work closely with development, operations, and finance teams to bridge gaps and streamline processes.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, providing technical insights and recommendations.

4. Automation:

  • Develop and maintain automated processes for deployment, monitoring, and maintenance.
  • Identify opportunities for process automation to enhance overall efficiency.

5. Security and Compliance:

  • Implement and enforce security best practices for infrastructure and applications.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements related to financial systems.

Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer in complex, enterprise-level environments.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud platforms, especially AWS or Azure.
  • Proficient in automation tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or Chef.
  • Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Familiarity with FinOps practices and principles.
  • Excellent scripting skills (e.g., Python, Bash).
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills.
  • Knowledge of financial systems and practices is a plus.
