The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in trade counter sales, specifically within the timber and building merchant industry. This role involves engaging with customers, providing product advice, processing sales orders, and ensuring the smooth operation of the trade counter Key Responsibilities Greet and assist customers promptly, providing expert advice on timber, plumbing and construction products. Process sales orders efficiently, manage transactions, and handle cash and card payments. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the product range and industry trends to advice customers accurately. Monitor stock levels, assist with inventory checks, and ensure the trade counter is well-stocked and organized. Work closely with colleagues to ensure customer needs are met and sales targets are achieved. Accurately input and manage customer orders using the company’s sales system. Requirements Experience in a trade counter sales role within the construction materials industry Strong understanding of timber, plumbing and construction products. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong customer service skills with a proactive and positive attitude. Proficient in using sales software and MS Office applications.
