We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Technical Officer.
The role of the Senior Technical Officer (STO) is to provide support to the Maintenance Engineering team and the Principal Technical Officer (PTO), as well as supporting the High-Speed Track Team. The STO provides support to the PTO and will deputise for the PTO as required. A key part of this role will be to monitor asset performance, reliability, productivity, and efficiency. You will provide technical guidance, support, and undertake survey and design work. Your experience will enable you to undertake technical inspections and investigations, arranging track monitoring and reviewing and reporting outputs.
You will support the PTO and the Track Team in the delivery of their objectives to ensure that our High Speed Track Team delivers excellence in terms of safety, quality and performance; We have our own technical standards, you will assist the PTO to ensure the infrastructure is maintained to these standards during routine technical inspections.
Adhere to company policies and procedures
Manage and check the quality of work delivered and confirm assets are compliant to standards.
Undertake and supervise technical tasks, survey and design work.
Undertake technical inspections, tests, investigations and analysis of technical data.
Manage information to update systems, databases and records.
Able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Ideally hold or be working towards and NVQ level 2 or 3 (or equivalent) in an engineering/leadership subject.
The Senior Technical Officer is a safety critical and key safety post. If not already held by the successful applicant, any offer of employment will be subject to passing the relevant pre-appointment medical including a drug & alcohol test.
