Teaching Assistant
Hours: 40 hours per week Term Time Only
Hourly Rate: £11.78 per hour
30 per year (actual salary, dependent on experience and qualifications) Simply Education is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our inspiring school in Pilning, South Gloucestershire , supporting students aged 7-19 with autism and related social and communication needs. Our client provides tailored education for children from Key Stage 2 through post-16 , helping each student to explore and fulfil their potential in a caring, safe, and stimulating environment.
As a Teaching Assistant , your role is to provide essential support for children's learning and overall wellbeing. This includes working with teachers to deliver high-quality learning experiences and, where necessary, assisting with care needs and positive behaviour management tailored to individual students.
Build warm, caring, and supportive relationships with pupils to create a safe and enjoyable learning environment.
Support the Class Teacher in delivering a broad and balanced curriculum, encouraging pupils to achieve their full potential.
Assist with the day-to-day operations of the class and respond to the changing needs of the school.
Work collaboratively within a multi-professional team, contributing to pupils' development plans.
GCSE Maths and English at Level 2/C or above.
Understanding of safeguarding principles and Child Protection procedures.
Knowledge or experience of working with pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
A commitment to putting the needs of the child first and treating them as individuals.
A positive and creative approach to meeting pupils' needs.
Level 3 qualification in supporting teaching and learning in schools, or equivalent.
At least one years experience working as a Level 2 qualified Teaching Assistant or equivalent.
