We now have exciting permanent opportunities for a motivated and suitably qualified Project Controls Manager to join our Technical Communities based in the South West of England.
Job SummaryThe Project Controls Manager provide analysis of projects and programmes using available data from cost, scheduling/planning and risk and opportunities for internal and client projects. The purpose of the role is to be responsible for managing and controlling the progress of projects or programmes using appropriate tools to analyse the performance of the project/programme.
The Key Duties, Tasks and ResponsibilitiesAs part of the Project Management and Project Controls team responsibilities are to:
- Develop, manage and update project and programme plans including full costing, development of WBSs, resource management, cost management of risk and critical path review, using appropriate software and tools
- Manage the change control as the project/programme scope changes, using the correct processes and updating the necessary configuration documentation
- Understand the need for project baseline control and different types of baseline change
- Understand the tools assess project performance and quality against the baseline schedule
- Understand risk and opportunities and integrate the cost of these strategies effectively into the plan/schedule
- Understand project control methodologies and processes for programme and project management
- Production of monthly reports
- Maintain an understanding of all current codes of practice
- Participate in technical communities to support the development of other Vulcain staff
The Project Controls Manager must have, or be working towards the following:
- Minimum of HND in Management, Economics, Engineering, Construction, Quantity Surveying or another relevant subject
- Degree in Engineering, Project Management, Economics or other related field
- Project management/project controls qualifications e.g. APM Chartership status through a recognised international body
- In the absence of these qualifications sufficient proven relevant experience can be appropriate to determine suitability
