Reporting to the Lead Commissioning Engineer, you will primarily bebased in the Colchester and EPN License Area offices.
As aCommissioning Engineer, your main responsibility will be to plan andperform commissioning testing of various substation equipment at allvoltage levels, following the current procedures. You will alsoprovide design and standards support, as well as witnessmanufacturers' commissioning tests to ensure quality assurance andcompliance.
Experience as an Authorised Person (AP) with network operationalexperience, including a period as a commissioning engineer, isrequired. Additionally, you should have a high level of technicalunderstanding and proficiency in the field, with the ability to applypractical engineering principles to problem-solving. Reporting to the Lead Commissioning Engineer, you will primarily bebased in the Colchester and EPN License Area offices.

Plan and manage commissioning work and plantacceptance testing, leading to safe energisation and successfulproject completion.
Develop commissioning plans andprogrammes, applying sound engineering knowledge to set standards andensure thorough and complete testing.
Evaluate designs duringdesign reviews, collaborating with in-house, contractor, and supplierexperts to optimize schemes and reduce risk.
Diagnose problems duringcommissioning testing and propose modifications to scheme designs toensure desired operability.
Investigate and correctmalfunctions during the lifespan of equipment, collaborating withsenior commissioning engineers and technical experts to developpermanent solutions.
Work with Network Control to plan andauthorize safe energisation of plant on the network.
Minimizecustomer interruptions and ensure commissioning schemes deliver lowernumbers of Customer Minutes Lost (CML) and Customer Interruptions(CI).
Witness contractors' testing and coordinate the use oftest sheets and test routines.
Confirm relay settings backinto the company database before energisation and ensure completion ofas-built records.
Network operational experience as an Authorised Person (AP),including a period as a commissioning engineer.
High level oftechnical understanding and proficiency in commissioning.
